Bad news I am leaving decatur!! this week was full of goodbyes and I am gonna miss everyone so much I cannot even describe it!! anyways here is my weekly.

Tuesday
-we got to go to the temple!!! It was so amazing and beautiful and I am so grateful that I got to feel the sweet spirit there <3 Also the flowers are all bloomed and it made me wayyyy happy to see them :)
-I accidentally called my mission president "dude" hahaha oops
-katilyn from the ward drove us to saint louis and se is sooo cool we had such a good time driving there with her and getting to know her better! She is one of the most unique people ever and she is so comfortable with being herseld and i love it so much!! Also she is hilarious and has the best church music so it was a great time

Wednesday
-we had district council over technology and it was good but it made it hard to sing and recite stuff haha it was pretty funny!! And then we had a mission wide training about the law of chasity by President and it was awesome!! I learned so much!!
-we planned out Jerrys Baptism hes getting baptized on Saturday the 25th!! I am going to be gone sadly but it will be such an amazing day for him and we are so happy for him ahhh!
-we taught zach about the Priesthood and temples and he teared up bc the spirit touched his heart and it was really sweet.
-we got to see vet and kamaria!! Vet was super duper tired but still let us in!! She had a crazy week but we were able to teach her about the first part of the plan of salvation. We invited them to baptism and they said they are have already been baptized and so we are going to go over the priesthood again :)

Thursday
-we started out our day by going to the lovely thrift store to volunteer and that was wonderful. I got to see all my favorite people and soaked uo my last few moments there!! I am going to miss serving there so much!! All the volunteers and wormers are so awesome
-i had my last lunch with Brother Novak at Subway and the Subway ladies wanted to get a picture and it turned out wonderful I am going to miss it soooo much!!
-we went and helped sister pace get ready for the rumage swap and got her stuff all ready to donate. Zach came too and helped sister pace !! It was a good time and we also read Enos which is always wonderful:)
-zach officially passed his baptism interview
-we went and visited the stoddards and shared the plan of salvation with them!! I love them sooo much they inspire me :)
-we had a great Book of Mormon study!! We read Enos and the last part of Jacob. I never realizer how sad jacob was at the end there

Friday
-wow this day was soooo warm and muggy and I accidentally wore a sweater. But I am LOVING the warmth sooooo much its amazing to go outside and not need any jacket at all
-we got ready alll day for the baptism!! Still did not finish getting ready and a bunch of the people we had planned participating canceled!! Luckily everything worked out and we found replacements
-we were so amazingly busy this day we had back to back appointments for a long time and THAT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE!!
-we taught eric more about the book of Mormon and how when we have a desire to become better we NEED to act and have real intent and this will help our hearts to truly change.
-we visited with zach and his mom and we taught her the restoration and zach was able to help teach!! We love both of them sooo much!!
-we went to teach Linda and we knocked three times and called her and she didn't pick up!! So we decided we would go talk to her neighbor. While we were talking to her neighbor Linda realized that we were there and came out and let us in!! The chihuahua that almost ATTACKED me last time was BEING SO SWEET THIS DAY. it would come and cuddle up to me or sister greer or linda during the lesson. Btw the dogs named is princess haha it perfectly describes the dog.
-we read with Linda in Alama 34 in the Book of Mormon and talked abou Gods plan for her. I cannot even describe how amazing linda is and how much she comprehends from the Book of Mormon. She has been reading it a lot and it has been helped her feel peace and receive revelation!! She knows the story line super well and says she can understands what it is teaching!! I literally love her so much and she is so prepared and so kind and amazing
-for dinner we ate fruitsnacks and granola bars while watching a sunset in a cornfield and listening to some pretty piano music. We drove around with the windows down to go back to work and its so humid and warm and it was really good because it helped me to feel like myself.

Saturday
-we had the craziest day ever!!!! We left the apartment at 7:30 and we went to go help with the rummage swap at the church it was packed at the beginning and there were so many people looking through all of the stuff!! For reference i never knew what a rummage swap was but basically the church gym turns into a giant free thrift store for anyone to come and get free stuff!! And it lasts like all of Saturday it was awesome!!
-this was also the HOTTEST DAY OF MY LIFE WOW!! it was pretty warm outside and the doors were open all day for the rummage swap and the ac in the church wasn't working so the whole day we were sooo hot haha i loved it so much
-we got invited to go to jans granddaughters graduation party and that was so sweet :) we got to congratulate her granddaughter and meet her friends and it was really cool to meet all of them and explain what we do as missionaries
-the party was at Jans old house out on the farm and it was sooo cute!! AND THERE WERE SO MANY ANIMALS. They had over 300 rabbits and there were so many baby rabbits and we could hold them and cuddle them it was great. There was also three cute dogs and some donkeys. We had so much fun looking at all the animals and jan was so happy to show us
-we went back to the church and helped clean up the rest of the rummage swap and had a great time!! We took down a bunch of boxes and then were putting them in this room and so instead of handing the boxes to me sister greer woukd chuck like ten at me and it was so funny. We also finished getting ready for zachs baptism. Made programs, filled the font, got the rooms ready by putting uo floral arrangements and pictures of Christ.
-THE BEST PART OF THE DAY WAS ZACHS BAPTISM!!! elder robison baptized him and zach is 6 foot 8 and elder robison is like 5 foot 8. And the water in the font was kinda low but it all worked out in the end!! But it was so cute zach was so happy and gave elder robison a bug hug and it touched my heart. Also Zachs mom and Grandparents where able to make it!!
-in the service before the baptism sister tonelli and brother Austin both gave talks and they were so sweet and somehow I got roped into doing a musical number!!! It was terrifying I always get so nervous to do anything in front of lots of people but i played my ukulele and I sang and everyone was literally so nice about it haha sooooo so nice!! Bishop is a musician and he said that it brought tears to his eyes and he said it was truly inspired for me to sing that song!! And he said that it takes a lot for music to make him tear up and that was the sweetest thing ever and also brother smith was so nice about it and everyone was literally SO NICE WOW!!
-We cleaned up from the baptism and had some yummy refreshments and by the end of the day we were soooo tired but in the best way ever because we had an amazing day.

Sunday!!
-this was also a suppper good day!! We got to go to church and see zach receive the gift of the holy ghost!! The spirit was so strong and we were sooo happy for him!!  I am going to start off this email by acknowledging that there were several sentences that I totally forgot to finish in an email before and I apologize!! Haha but this week was really good! Lots better than last week and I am so thankful to be here and to have this chance to serve!!!!

Monday
-we read in the Book of Mormon with Zach about baptism!! He is so excited to get baptized and make that covenant with the Lord. He was seriously in the best and happiest mood that day. We are so grateful that we could meet him and that he loves the gospel so much!!
-for the rest of the night we went and contacted people who we are trying to teach!! We were able to get in contact with one of them so that was good!

Tuesday
-we got to serve at the Good Samaritan innnnnn!! My favorite place <3 all of our favorite people were there!!! We got nancys phone number and hopefully we can go and visit her!!
-we finally made zach baptism invitations!! They turned out pretty good and we are sooo excited wahooo!!
-we got to see Vet and kamaria!! They are people who we helped move :) vet is sooo studious and she was studying the book of Mormon and marking it up !! She is so funny and I love her so much!!
-we stopped by zachs house and gave him his baptism invitations!!! Its coming up soooo close!!
-we found a funny squashed snake that I thought was a belt and then on closer inspection it was literally a snake that was so squashed

Wednesday
-we had president interviews!! President is such a kind and nice man i am so thankful for him!! It was so good to talk to him!!
-we tried to teach barry it was pretty nuts and he is so hard to teach and isn't really willing to change or listen to us so we are dropping him :/
-we taught zach about the word of wisdom!!!! It was awesome and he is willing to follow the word of wisdom!!
-we went in the church at the end of the night and we were only going to be in there for a minute to look at the baptism suits for zach since he is SO TALL and we weren't sure if there was one that fit him and I left the car window open AND THERE WAS A CRAZY HUGE STORM!!! The whole inside of the car got soakkkked and it was pretty funny my seat was wet and the whole dashboard and also the steering wheel and everything!!

Thursday
-it was sister greers bday!! AND IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!! We ended up being sooo busy in the best way and we got to do so many things!!
-we did service at the thrift store and for sister greers bday present i got her the funniest sweatshirt and it has an old timey lady holding a large gun and it says "ladies sewing and terrorist society"
-we taught Crystal about the Book of Mormon and where it came from!! She loves the Book of Mormon soooo much!!
-we taught sister askins about the Plan of Salvation. We are starting to teach members the missionary lessons more regularly. It was super cool because she had already know about the plan of salvation but we still learned so much

Friday
-went up to the tiny little town of Clinton!! Sadly on the way up a tragedy happened and the person who wanted to study the bible with us canceled but we decided to go up there anyways and do some work up there.
-Clinton is the flattest looking place in the world I am pretty sure. Most the time near Decatur when you are at a cornfield you can usually see trees in the distance or silos or houses. But in Clinton its just cornfields forever and forever you cannot even see anything else except unplanted cornfields.
-did weekly planning in a study room in a random library in clinton and it was so cute there I loved it.
-we met a man while we were tracting and he has a child who is a member of the church who lives in Utah we were able to give him a Book of Mormon and hopefully we can go visit him soon
-we talked to a young man and his girlfriend his name was larry and he calls himself a "jesus guy" because he says that he loves Christ so much. We gave him the Book of Mormon and he said that he would read it!!
-we met a super nice mom and we gave her a Book of Mormon and she said that we could come back and teach her a lesson!
-we met a man who loves motorcycles and is a part of an organization called motorcycles and christians or something like that. He told us some stories and then gave us pennies with a cross cut out of them to remember christ.
-clinton is strange IN THE BEST WAY there is this little town square and there is nothing there except abandoned stores, barber shops, and antique stores!!  In such a small area there are 3 barber shops and about 5 antique stores! We went in one of the barber shops to ask for directions and the man who worked there was named Darvin and he owned the funniest cutest little barbershop!! He let us share a message with him so that was amazing!!
-on the way back from Clinton we had dinner in Maroa with the Carriers and they are the COOLEST FAMILY!!! They have such amazing testimonies and the cutest dog and the cutest kids!! It was a great time and we taught them about the plan of salvation
-after dinner we went to go visit some potentials and we ended up running into Wesley who a missionary reffered to us. It was awesome to get in contact with wesley and give him a Book of Mormon!!
-ALSO GOOD NEWS JERRY IS ON DATE FOR BAPTISM I LOVE HIM!!! So proud!!!

Saturday
-we went and visited a nice man named drew and his family and they were soooo cool!! We read Enos with them and taught them about the Book of Mormon and it was soooo fun!!
-we met zach at his house and walked to bishops house and taught zach about the law of chasity. Bishop and his wife are awesome wow!! They were so good at helping us teach Chastity I feel like I learned so much.
-the Elders brought us a cake for sister greers bday and it was sooooo funny. It was yellow cake with chocolate chips but all the chocolate chips went to the bottom and burned and they gave it to her upside down. It was awesome and it was the most elder looking cake i have ever seen.
-we got to see Danny and see how he is doing. It was super nice because it had been soo long!!

Sunday
-i literally think nothing too crazy happened on thus day except we got to go to sister askins and teach her grandkids and that was fun!!
-cannot remember anything else significant

Monday
-I DONT EVEN KNOW HOW BUT I RAN FIVE MILES FOR EXCERCISE AND I WAS SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!

Butterball and Greer

HEre is a little bit of my week!!

last pday....Wow this was suchhhh a fun day!!!! We got to go go to a little town called arthur which is where some amish people live. The cutest lady that we volunteer with and her husband took us!! We love them sooooo much.
-It was kinda funny too see all the amish people since we always get mistaken for being amish hahah

-but the amish were cool, SO QUIET THOUGH I COULD NOT EVER BE AMISH!!

We went into there grocery store and it was completely white all the walls and stuff and it had no real lights just sky lights and gas lights. And there was no music so it was silent!! It was crazy!! But they make really good food and we got some smoked cheddar from the store and it was amazing!!

-we met the coolest artist Broadway man

-after pday we went and taught zach and that went awesome!! Sister Breeze came and we taught the restoration...FINALLY!! And it went well!! Zach is so receptive and smart and he totally understands all that we teach him

-crystal called us and had a miracle because she read the book of mormon and she told us how much she loves the Book of Mormon for like thirty minutes on the phone and that was awesome!! Sadly we tried to meet with her since then and she hasn't been feeling well enough too.

-Tuesday was a super rainy day and I was soakedddd the whole day!! I love how much it rains here

-this was a great day because we got to go to good samaritan!! Iove it there soooo much!! All the people there are my favorite. Especially jan who we volunteer with she is soooo sweet and our best friend. Nothing too crazy happened except that it was super busy!! And i was helping this lady get her food to tale with her and she was yelling at me the whole time!! I think she was kinda out of it but wow it was weirddd.

-We went to a potentials house who we helped move and

-we taught zach more about the priesthood and we read some of the Book of Mormon with him!!

-We had exchanges!! wahoo it was so fun!! I went to springfield with sister jones. We did service at the breadline and served food to people and we got too teach two lessons to the people they have on date for baptism

-Sister JOnes and I stopped at this little park and there were SO MANY BABY GEESE!! We just looked at these geese and just talked to these guys who were fishing. They were not interested BUT we gave them our phone number and they sent us a picture of a catfish that they caught. made my day!!!!!!

-we taught zach about tithing!! He is willing to pay tithing and he memorized the ten commandments it was sooo awesome!! we are so happy for him!!

-I saw Oj the cat!! wow he is the sweetest cat ever I loveee him. I love how the Lord loves us so much and has created things like cats just to bring us happiness <3

-Church was great zach and jerry came to church and it was fast and testimony meeting!!

-We read through Enos with Bertha. She started out the lesson with saying she wasn't interested anymore but by the end of the lesson she wanted us to come back the next sunday and read scriptures with her.

-there were these ladies outside of berthas apartment that I said hi to and they were soooo mad that I asked them how they were doing but we just kept talking to them and by the end we were like best friends and there was one lady who was also born in champaign and she gave me a big old hug haha it was awesome!!

-We saw the football guys again and we gave them copies of the book of mormon and the bible

That wasn't a whole ton of stuff but thats what I could remember right now haha love you all so much and have a great week!!

A BAPTISM DATE!!!!!!!!!

This week was good!! I love Decatur sooo much and I cannot believe that I have to leave soo soon!!! Also I miss all of you and wish that I could transport all of you to Decatur so I could introduce you to all of the awesome people here!! OK ALSO HUGE NEWS WE HAVE SOMEONE ON DATE FOR BAPTISM WAHOOOOOOOO HIS NAME IS ZACH AND HE WANTS TO BE BAPTIZED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I AM SOOOO HAPPY AND GRATEFUL!!!!!!!!

pday last week was wayy cool because we got to spend time on brother smiths dock and sat in the sun!! It was awesome!! I painted and listened to music so that was a happy time

we met the funniest little dog I have ever seen it was so small and scared of us and its name was Popsicle and she was so old so she didn't have teeth and he tongue would always be to the side and she was sooo cute.
-after pday we had a lesson with Zach and it was the best!!! He decided that he wants to get baptized as soon as possible!!! We are soooo happy for him!!! Its so cool to see his understanding of the gospel grow in such a short amount of time!! Ahhh it literally feels like a dream that someone we are teaching has committed to baptism!! I am so proud of him!! ALSO he read 15 chapters of the Book of Mormon!!! Nothing could make me happier!!
Tuesday
-we were on our way to zone conference
-in Champaign-Urbana!! Where I was born!!! It was soo cool to see my old house and the park I used to play at!! So surreal wow. We went and took a picture with the condo and played at the park a little bit and it was such a good memory :)

-zone conference was good we listened to lots of messages about baptism and tiwis
-we got a new tiwi!!!! I already got an agressive driving whoops but the new tiwi voice is so much nicer and doesn't hurt our ears. I am so happy!!! Love new tiwi <3 (What's a tiwi you might ask? That's what I was wondering when I read this tidbit in Hannah's email.  It will give you (audible voice) feedback as you drive and will record information about your driving.  The Tiwi identifies your location using a GPS system and gathers driving information from your vehicle’s computer.  Your Tiwi will mentor you as you drive by giving you immediate feedback if you: Drive without fastening your seat belt, Drive too fast for the posted speed limit, Drive aggressively such as stopping or turning too hard, driving over bumps too fast, or accelerating too fast.

-after zone conference we went to dinner with all of the sisters in the zone and that was wonderful!! Ahhh talking with missionaries is so much fun!! and we had the best lava cake it was soooo good!

Wednesday
-we showed up at the same service at the SAME TIME as the elders whoops so we ended up going to wash windows at the y instead of going to the thrift
-we met the cutest little adorable Egyptian lady!!! I literally love her so much and I have her a hug and she kissed my cheek. Made my whole entire day!!

-i got my wonderful amazing easter package!!!!!! Wahoooo could not be more thrilled!!! Thanks family love you <3
-we were going to visit sister askins and there was a lady sitting on the porch across the street and she looked like someone I knew and so I started telling her that and she was sooo awesome!! The spirit was helping us so much and we talked to her and told her about Christs love for her and she started crying opened up to us a ton and it was super cool and we gave her a hug and I love her!! Experiences like that are soooo cool and I feel so blessed to be able to share that simple BUT AMAZING truth with people. Also I think it taught me a ton about doing my best to share the gospel with every person we come into contact with because we know it will bless their lives!!! And you never know who really needs it until you invite them. So a new goal of mine is to be less scared when sharing the gospel with people because its awesome and its true and people need it!!

-visited sister askins and it was a nice time we love her sooo much!! She is such a unique person and I love hearing her insights about the gospel and life and I saw a white mouse and a gray mouse scamper across the floor. Spooked me a little bit and i screamed during the lesson haha

-we visited some potentials and worked the area around them and seriously ever single person said the same exact phrase they all said they already had a church. Except one person who lived at a house who was a former person being taught and she asked if we were church people and we said yes and she slammed the door in our face as I was asking her if they were the family that we were looking for haha. It was good though no effort is wasted!! Just kinda funny.
-we got to teach Jerry and I brought him my favorite treat ever!! Chocolate cinnamon bears <3 we talked about temples. I love the temple so much!!
-can i just say that I LOVE NEW TIWI SO MUCH!!! New tiwi is so much nicer!! Less aggressive more agreeable
Thursday
-started off the day doing service in my fav place!! The thrift store!! We got to see rita!! Ahhh love her so much the people who volunteer there are so awesome and they are such good friends to us.
-today I realized how I need to help push member missionary work more because its sooo effective!!!! I have been stubborn about member missionary work but the Lord has definitely helped me to see the bigger picture today and why member missionary work is so important!!
-after lunch we got to see brother Novak and the elders when we stopped by the church and I LOVE BROTHER NOVAK SO MUCH!! I am gonna miss him so much when I leave here because he is so funny and nice.
-we ended up having lots of finding time this day so we walked around and got to talk to A BUNCH OF PEOPLE!!!! We found so many people who were willing to let us share a message with them!! Wow I am still so thankful for the warmth and how it improves peoples moods sooo much!! <3
-good news! Zach has still been reading the Book of Mormon. Literally teared up because I was so happy about that. Being a missionary is so much fun when we have someone who will keep commitments and is progressing so much!! Ahhh such a blessing that we are able to know zach.
-met a puppy and it was pretty cute and it definitely smelled like pee and then I smelled like pee from it climbing all over my legs haha but worth it bc it was a cute puppy
-the Book if Mormon study this week was great as always AND I got surprise from Jerry because I didn't know I was going to get them so soon but JERRY GOT ME OVERALLLLSSSS!!!! IT WAS THE BEST GIFT EVER!! and now jerry and i can match in overalls and they seriously fit perfectly. Wowow so blessed to know Jerry!!
-i had ramen for dinner at 9 oclock at night haha gotta love mission life!!
Friday !!
-we went to good samaritan for service but they didn't need us!! So we started our weekly planning instead but then a million random things happened and we ended up not doing it until the very end of the day!!!
-a man from our ward named brother tucker took us to krekles for lunch, home of the krekleburger. It originated in Decatur and they are straight up the greasiest burgers ever but we love them!!
-we got to see sister breeze and fill her in about what she missed at the book of Mormon study.
-we met with zach and planned out everything we are going to do leading up to his baptism. We are going to be meeting with him A TON! And he is so excited to get baptized!! We always teach zach at the park by his house and he wanted to show us a tree in the park and we thought it would be a three minute walk BUT IT WAS SO FAR OOPS!! We did not know haha but it was a crazy tree that had a bikini painted onto it (don't worry picture included on the drive)
-we saw a curious squirrel the had a bushy tail and then no hair on its body wackkkk
Saturday
-we did THE BEST SERVICE PROJECT ever!!!!! We got to help clean up the sangamon river!!!! We picked up trash along the shore of the river and we found so many treasures. Rib cages, so much styrofoam, bottles, legos,
A COYOTE SKULL,
crispy dead fish, large humongous pieces of plastic, and so much more!!
It was so much fun we basically got to hike with our volunteer group through a super wooded thorny area and pick up so much trash and help clean up the conservation area!!
It was awesome and it was raining so we got way soaked!!
-after the river clean up we were soooo cold so we went home and changed and ate some lunch which was amazing!! So thankful for warm clothes!!
-we went tracting and met some wonderful amazing people <3 wow probably my favorite part of being a missionary is meeting random people!! Especially when they start opening up to you so much even if you don't know them and you can pray with them and help them to understand how much the lord loves them!! Literally nothing beats that.
-i am loving the spring weather soooo much it is gorgeous and the surroundings here are so green!!
-it was a wonderful day because we got to visit with Zach at his house and meet his mom!! SHE IS SO SWEET!!! Zach has been showing her the things we have taught him and she supports him in his decisions!! She sat in on our lesson and it was so good to talk to her and get to know her!! She is seriously amazing!! Also we got to meet his cats and they were so cute and kept hopping on the table when we were teaching him!!
Sunday
-barry called me butterball again
-this sunday was wonderful!! Jerry drove zach to church for us and it was sooo good to see them there!! Zach loved church soooo much !! We are so glad!! After church we had a lesson with jerry and zach came too and we talked about the restoration and jerry pulled out his preach my gospel and gave it to zach!!
-we had dinner with my favorite people!!! The stoddards!! Ahhh they are the coolest family I love them so much so cute and so kind and so inspiring.
-so the other day (like two weeks ago) we met these cool football guys and they WERE SO NICE!! And they wanted us to come to their game but we just scheduled it so we could go to the very end like last two minutes of the game so we could talk to then and we were walking to the field and the coach spotted us and he goes "sister Butterfield your late!!" Like soooo loud haha it was awesome. But they are all so nice to us and we are going to visit them again because some of them want boooKs of mormon and we got to share a message with some of them and they called us family. I literally love them SO MUCH!!!!! And the coach had us meet all of the players we hadn't met yet!! Best thing ever haha.

-we had a phone called with barry for 30 minutes!!! Our phone call consisted of talkk about ufos, family history, horses, the creation, white people food, the restoration, the priesthood, and butterballs. WE LOVEE HIM SOOO MUCH!! We invited him to baptism and he said that he was already baptized. But we will keep trying!! Barry is such a good friend love him.
-got asked if I was amish again!! Wahooo
Thats all for this week!! Love you all soooooo much and hope you have a gret week!!! <3

16 Reasons Buddy the Elf is Probably Mormon

This post came from www.normons.com It was so funny I had to add it after Hannah's letter about Buddy the Elf being a missionary.

1. He’s known for being happy.

I'm smiling
A 2012 Gallup poll found that Mormons and Jews are the happiest religious groups in the United States.

2. He doesn’t know how to swear.

  No, really…

3. He LOVES sugar.

4. He’s not afraid to talk to strangers.

I wonder where he served his mission?

5. He’s exceptionally good at arts and crafts.

Elf: the Musical doesn’t have as many Tony awards as The Book of Mormon, but it’s impressive nonetheless.

15. He consistently goes out of his way to serve others.

buddy the elf i love you
Mormons have been found to be some of the most “pro-social” members of American society. We do our best to dedicate our time and talents to serving our families, our church members, and our communities.

16. People accuse him of being delusional but, as it turns out, he’s not.
